While reading other people’s blogs recently, I came across several interesting points that made sense to me. I’m keeping a record here.
- Expectations for backend engineers
Focus on Java fundamentals, design patterns, JVM internals, Spring and Spring MVC concepts and source code, Linux, MySQL transaction isolation and locking, MongoDB, HTTP/TCP, multithreading, distributed architectures (Dubbo, Dubbox, Spring Cloud), elastic computing architectures, microservices architectures (Spring Boot + ZooKeeper + Docker + Jenkins), Java performance optimization, and related project management.
Backend engineering focuses on the “three highs”—high concurrency, high availability, and high performance—along with security, storage, and business logic.
For frontend engineers:
Focus on HTML5, CSS3, jQuery, AngularJS, Bootstrap, React, Vue.js, Webpack, Less/Sass, Gulp, Node.js, Google’s V8 engine, JavaScript multithreading, modularization, aspect-oriented programming, design patterns, browser compatibility, and performance optimization.
Frontend engineering focuses on presentation, smooth and responsive interactions, compatibility, and user experience.
