Here are my notes on building a simple web project with Maven and IntelliJ IDEA.

1.Installing Maven on a Mac

2.Configuring Maven in IntelliJ IDEA on a Mac. One point to emphasize: after downloading Maven and configuring the IDE, it is a good idea to edit Maven’s setting.xml file in the conf directory under its installation path. The key setting is the Maven mirror URL. Search for mirrors in the configuration file and configure an Alibaba mirror; see these instructions. Using this mirror can speed up downloads in China and help prevent build failures caused by downloads taking too long.

3.A simple Maven web project. This guide explains the process in detail.
